Another loan offered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) assists low- and moderate-income households with the opportunity to own "adequate, modest, decent, safe and sanitary dwellings" as their primary residence in USDA-designated rural areas.
This program helps make homeownership a reality by providing affordable opportunities for those who may not otherwise qualify for assistance. The USDA believes this program promotes prosperity, which in turn creates thriving communities and improves the quality of life in rural areas.
Those who are eligible for a USDA loan receive 100% financing for a total maximum loan amount of $417,000 to build, rehab, improve or relocate a dwelling. The additional advantage to qualifying borrowers is that there is no down payment required for a purchase. The borrower also does not have a minimum FICO score requirement (but some limits may apply in some cases).
To be eligible for this type of loan, the borrower must personally occupy the property on a permanent basis. It cannot be used as a secondary residence. Borrower must also have low- and moderate-income and meet FICO score requirements based on the situation.
Only some lenders in the United States are approved by the USDA to offer this type of loan. Skyline Home Loans is proud to support it and those whom it benefits.
